One day in a meeting someone raised the issue about God’s inability to lie. The person was trying to give us a picture of God’s integrity with His word and he later said, ‘let’s even assume that God decides to lie. If we are in Japan now and God says, ‘we are in London,’ immediately the environment which used to be Japan will turn to London because God said it is London. If this place is a theatre and God says, ‘no it is not a theatre. This is a government house for the President of the country.’ Instantly that place ceases to be a theatre and will become a government house because God said it!’
This explains why the doctors can say that someone has cancer and God says, ‘It’s not possible for him to have cancer. He is still going to preach for me and he has not started at all.’ The doctors can say this man is going to die in six months but God is saying, ‘my assignment for you is in phases and the last phase is coming in sixty years from now! You are not going anywhere because I need you here on earth to turnaround the political fortunes of your nation!’
Some people came to Jesus to tell Him that Lazarus was sick and was going to die but the next thing Jesus said was, this sickness is not unto death!’ When He eventually knew that He was dead He told the disciples that Lazarus was sleeping! When Jesus got to the grave of Lazarus He simply called him out just as if Lazarus was truly sleeping. You will find details of this story in John 11. All of these things can be only as God has said it because according to His word in Numbers 23 19, ‘God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?’
Someone people look at themselves and underrate themselves because they have no idea of what God’s big plan for them is. Whenever they get an inkling of this plan they also begin to deny themselves. ‘Oh, that’s not me! I am just a small boy from the smallest and a remote village’ Recently I heard that President Goodluck Jonathan was speaking to a group of people shortly before declaring his intention to contest in 2011 elections and he talked about how he used to walk several miles to get to school. He relayed his experience as a child and did say he would never have imagined at that time that he would also be leading the same nation where he used to walk to school.
Your current situation may never look like what God said He will do for you or do through you but I stand on the word of God that says He is not a man that He should lie neither the son of man that He should repent to tell you God is capable of creating a future with a sharp contrast to your past! Don’t even try to reason it out! Don’t try to place a logical picture into how God will get you to where He wants to put you. It is God’s work to get you there and it is your responsibility to follow. You may not have had a child for years, you may have been jobless for years, you may have been stagnant in your place of work but According to His word, God is not a man that He should lie! He has said it and He will bring it to pass.
