According to His word – 15 | Fola Daniel Adelesi, ASM, ACL, WCC

There are times when we work and it looks as if the work is not yielding our desired results. Sometimes we come to a point when we almost want to conclude that it is not worth the stress or that God is not in the work since it is not turning out as fast as we expect it to turn out. From time to time you also find people who know they are in the right place and are doing the right thing but they don’t seem to be getting the right results and that alone can be frustrating for a lot of people.
According to His word, ‘he who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him. – Psalm 126:6. The word ‘sheaves’ comes from sheaf and that means bundle of harvested grain stalk. In other words, His Word is saying there is a guarantee for your harvest any time you sow though it may look like you have sown your seeds in harsh situation or extremely difficult circumstances. There are times when you probably had the option of eating what you decided to turn into a seed. It was a difficult thing to let it go but the condition for having a harvest is that you have allowed it to go in the first place and you are bound to have results for what you are doing.
With this, I want to quickly take this opportunity to say something I have always tried to tell people about prayers. You can’t just say that you are praying about a situation without praying through the situation with the word of God. You always have to pray about your situation with an understanding in the word of God because it is easier that way to pray and hit the issues directly on the head. Whenever you pray without the word of God backing up what you are praying about, you are like a lawyer trying to make a case and cannot back up his stand with the constitution of his country. The lawyer who can back up his stand with the constitution and as well site previous cases that are relevant to the current case has a stronger chance of winning the case. The same applies to the word of God and prayers in our lives.
Let’s assume a situation where you have sown seeds and they seem not to be yielding but you have to do something about it. The seed in this case can be your input at work, your dedication to your family’s progress, your financial investment for a secured future or any other thing you put resources into in form of time, energy and money. When you realize that your desired result is not forth coming or it looks like it’s not coming at all you may want to pray about it but if I were you I will not just get into the prayer room and say, ‘God, help me, let this and that yield!’ I would rather take His word back to Him and say something like, ‘according to your word, ‘he who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.’ I have sown the seeds and now let your word come alive for me in this situation.
That is why you must know the word if you must live in this world just as a lawyer must know the law before he can make a case for anyone. From today, speak like someone who has a guarantee for harvest on his or her seeds and ask His word to come alive in your situation!
