In order to win a battle, one of the things you have to do is to demobilize your enemy. Everyone who has been trained in the art of war understands this. When you can’t get the enemy easily, just switch to tactics that will demobilize the enemy until you have a rare opportunity to finish the enemy up.
This is one of the things that the enemy wants to do to many of us who are children of God. He sees us at a distance and we are untouchable to him. He needs to try and get us out of the fire shielding him from getting to us. He has to find a way to bring us out of that place of safety into his own zone.
He tries many tactics and one of them is discouragement. When people say to you, ‘do not be discouraged,’ you would think they are just trying to motivate you. Actually, that statement is a lot more than an encouragement. When you have principles, it is easy to let down your guard and break your own principles just because you are in a tight corner. When you have vowed never to steal, you just might find then that everything around you becomes tight and you are almost frustrated. When you are not careful, discouragement sets in and you begin to consider all sorts of things.
Please note that many things will happen to us as children of God (Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all – Paslm 34:19), but not all of those things that will happen to us are coming from God as some people opine. There are a number of times when it is the devil that is throwing those things our way. Why is he throwing those several challenges in our ways? The reason is simple. He wants us to be discouraged. He wants us to get distracted and start looking at other things other than Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
Do everything possible to stay motivated. In that down moment, the devil can play a lot of tricks on your mind, when he succeeds with your mind he will continue to mess up your life. So you must not ever stay down in your moments of discouragement. You have to get out and stay motivated.
The other trick the devil tries to play on so many children of God is to make the challenges look normal or like it came from God. Mostly, when people think their challenges are approved by God, they relax and let it continue. Some even drive further into the challenges because of the notion that it is from God.
God may allow some challenges but it does not mean the challenges are from him. Just don’t let the devil make his strategies look like a project being implemented from God. God never wants you discouraged. In his presence is fullness of Joy and at his right hand there are pleasures forevermore so God cannot want you discouraged!
Fight every moment of discouragement and riggle your way out just so that the devil doesn’t get to you or take advantage of your discouragement.
