Looking unto to Jesus | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Heb 12:2 (NKJV)

More than ever before, it is time to remind ourselves to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

We have Christians confessing that Jesus is their Lord and saviour but their expectations are in the abilities of men and not in the power of God. Their hope is in the connections with people in high places and not the divine orchestration of God.

Some children of God are thinking that the reason things haven’t turned out well for them is because they don’t know some powerful people or people who are well connected. When Christians express thoughts like this, you can’t help but wonder if these people really know the Jesus they refer to as their Lord and Saviour.

While it is good to know people and be connected, you can’t be more connected than knowing Jesus! Jesus is the most important person you will ever know because he can determine what happens now and in eternity. His power is beyond this world but the men you trust in don’t have powers beyond this world. Even in this world, every man is limited by something that cannot limit Jesus.

Who have you been looking unto? If it is not Jesus, you better switch over today. There is none who can help you the way Jesus will. He also helps without complicating things.
