According to His word – 9 | Fola Daniel Adelesi, ASM

From time to time I see verses of scripture that get me excited and they give me so much confidence that I know they cannot fail because the force behind the word of God cannot fail! One of such verses is Isaiah 55:11 where you will find these words, ‘So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it (NKJV). Another version of the Bible puts it this way, ‘so will my word be which goes out of my mouth: it will not come back to me with nothing done, but it will give effect to my purpose, and do that for which I have sent it (BBE).

We need to get to an operational level in the word of God where people begin to ask us why we have so much confidence in the word of God. They will be asking not because they cannot see proofs around us but because they have realized that our confidence in the word of God is producing more result than their own trust in their intellectual capacity or acquired skills.

Another question is why should we as Christians not have so much confidence in the word of God? We have seen the word in action and I have said earlier that the word of God is an action word and it keeps performing. It performed so much that it became flesh! We are not only talking about what we have heard or thought about but what we have experienced in this life and it is what the word has done for us.

It’s a great thing to know that God himself is giving us the assurance that His word is both efficient and effective. If every other person has said that the word works it is possible to doubt them but now God is the one telling us about the efficacy of His word! According to His word, whatever He has spoken ‘WILL NOT’ return to Him void. That comes with so much certainty! A man can say some things to you but will also tell you that he cannot give you a guarantee that it’s going to be exactly the way he has said. He will probably give you the percentage of its certainty but God’s word different.

When God speaks He gives a hundred percent guarantee on the result of what He has said and that is why we need to be reminded that what God has said will not return to Him void. The meaning of this is that His word concerning your business, family, academics and other goals in life will certainly come to pass.

It will take the word of God and the word of a man for that man in question to prosper! God has enough integrity to keep to His word regarding the life of any man. The only thing that is not certain is the integrity of the man in question to keep to his own word which God’s word is waiting to bless.

God is not a man that He should lie so your life will certainly turn out according to His word if only you believe that word because it will be to you according to your faith!
