If you don’t like it, don’t do it! │© Fola Daniel Adelesi

There are too many people in this world who are doing what they do not enjoy doing. They are still doing it because they claim they do not have any choice as to what other things they can do. There are those who wake up on daily basis to do the jobs they do not like to do and there are those who go to school to study the courses they do not like to study. There are those learning the trades they don’t like and there are those working with people they don’t like. Interestingly, there are those who are also married to the people they do not like! One of the reasons it is very important for you to like or even love what you are doing is that the heart with which do it can, to a great extent, determine how well you succeed at what you are doing.

You ought not to be doing something just because you have to do it or because someone else wants you to do it. You have to be doing whatever it is you are doing because that is what you really want to do and that is what you love doing. You can only succeed at your job when you love the job with all your heart. Sometimes you can stay longer on a job not because you are being paid well but because you are enjoying the job. In some cases, your boss may even not treat you well and the environment may not be the right kind of environment for the job but you still hang on because you love the job. When you love the person you are married to, it will not matter what you both have to go through in some trying times.

Please be reminded that it is a form of slavery to stick with something and continue to do it when you don’t love it. There are too many people who are living the lives of their parents or the lives their spouses want them to live. As much as I will not ask you to rebel against your parents or disregard the wishes of your spouses, it is also very important that you exercise your freedom in what you are doing. When you are glued to something because it is what someone else wants from you then you are bound by that thing. You are no longer a free person. Everybody on earth deserves to be a free person and one of the ways in which we are free is not only to move about but to decide what we really want to do and to do what we love.

I remember Napoleon Hill said, ‘no man can succeed in a line of endeavour which he does not like.’ It is possible you don’t know about a line before and someone will introduce you to it but you still have to be the one to decide if you love it or not and you should never be pushed into it. Whatever you decide to do in life must be well thought out and you must be prepared for the possible challenges as well. When people force you to do something, you must remember that they will not be there with you to bear the challenges associated with what they are forcing you to do.

In this life you will have several choices to make. Some will be difficult, some will be straight forward, some will be confusing but the most important thing is that you can get counsel from others but still decide what you want to do. Whatever you decide to do will not only be because of the counsel you have gotten but because that is what you now think you love and need to do.

Free yourself from anything your are forcing yourself to do and do what you love in order to have a great life! Fola Daniel Adelesi
