It’s bursting out | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert – Isaiah 43:19.

When a farmer plants a seed and goes back home, it is as though nothing has happened. For a few days, weeks, months or even years, depending on what was planted, not much may be seen. In that period when there’s little or nothing to show for what has been planted, it always looks like nothing is happening but we know so much is going on under the ground.

This scenario describes how God works in us and through us. When the work begins, it sometimes feels like nothing is being done but with a great understanding of God, you know that so much is being done for you. There is a famous frame with a story of a man who was walking with God on the beach. After a while, he saw just a set of footprints instead of two. He then asked why God left him. God’s answer was, ‘I never left you. Those times when you saw a set of footprints instead of two were the times I carried you.’

God is a faithful God who is constantly at work in us and he never starts something that he will never finish. He will also not promise what he will not do. The only thing is that he does not always work the way we expect him to work. In Genesis 18:10, God made a promise to Sarah and it burst out in Genesis 21:1. In Genesis 37, God made a promise to Joseph and he began something great in his life. For a very long time, it looked like nothing was going on. It was as if God had even forgotten about Joseph but in Genesis 41, what God had been doing burst out in the life of Joseph. Philippians 1:6 says, ‘being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…’

Now we have come to a season where God says the work is not just be on the background, it will burst out. What the scripture says in 1 Corinthians 2:9 is ‘But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ So there are great things prepared for us and some of those things are ready. Then in Isaiah 43:19 God declares that those things will spring forth.

You should have an assurance that the good things God has been doing in your life will burst out. Why is that? When Jesus was teaching he asked an important question and it is, ‘who among you will light a candle and put it under a bushel?’ If Jesus asked that question, it also means there’s no way God will start something good in our lives and allow those things to be hidden. They will certainly spring forth. Those great things that God has been doing will burst out and nothing will be able to stop them anymore. What God has been doing in your life will burst out this month in Jesus name. God bless you.
