We negotiate on daily basis but the question we need to ask is if we are negotiating the best deals and getting the most out of our negotiations. Sometimes we even try to get something through negotiations and they tell that those things are impossible. You will be amazed at what you can get when you keep the negotiations going and others will find it hard to believe.

A few weeks back I was talking to someone and asking if the person has ever experienced miracles. He said no. he said he has had to work for nearly everything he got and days later I shared some of my experiences with him. The kind of deals I was getting that was almost unbelievable.

I have been in a negotiation before that did not turn out the way I wanted it to turn out. I did not give up on that negotiation. Each time I saw the person I kept mentioning it and we talked briefly about it just to see what might happen. The last time I touched on it I was surprised to realize what the person said to me. The person had said I must get something to have what I wanted and the same person was saying it is no longer necessary.

At some other point I wanted someone to get something for me and I was to pay in instalments but the product was not forth coming. While waiting for that I kept talking to other people. I didn’t understand why the product I was waiting for would not come in good time but I kept talking to other people and I found a product offering me more qualities and at lesser price than the one I was waiting for.

Don’t think that you have negotiated something and they have said no so it is impossible to get that deal again. No! If you are trying to negotiate a house and they tell you it will never go below and amount, keep at it. While you keep at that, you may look out for others that have even better offers or are better situated. But don’t give up your negotiations for the one you already found.

Sometimes when you are negotiating for things in life, the people you are negotiating with may want to make it look like what you are asking for is beyond your reach. They say that to get you off the road and talk to others they perceive might be willing to pay more. Don’t buy into that.

I think that the only thing that’s beyond your reach is what you are not willing to negotiate. So long as you are not willing to negotiate something then you may never get. But if you are willing, it does not matter how much they call it or the conditions they attach.

When you go into negotiations with this kind of mind set, there is hardly anything you will not be able to negotiate with people and from life. Until you conclude that something is not within your reach, it is always within your reach.

If you want something from someone or from life, go after it. Talk about it and offer different options. Don’t ever give up your negotiations until you get something you are satisfied about.
