The best for the last | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now – John 2:10

As we journey into the last few days of this year, we belive strongly that our God has kept the best of this year for the last part of it for us; and before this year runs out, you will get the very best of God in Jesus name.

We can see through scriptures that God is the kind of father that can keep the best for the last. When Jesus was invited to a marriage in the book of John chapter 2, he went with his disciples and the mother of Jesus was also present.
In the middle of the occassion they couples ran out of wine. Now think about running a wedding for your children or yourself and suddenly food is finished or you run out of drinks. You still have guests coming in and you havent served all those seated. That is going to be very embarassing but in the case of this people, Jesus stepped in.

It wasn’t just that Jesus stepped in, the wine that was produced as a result of jesus stepping in was a lot better than the wine they bought themselves. It was so good that the chairman of the occassion had to call the bridegroom and ask why he kept the best part for the last. I believe that very soon, you will start having some testimonies that will shock people. They will think you have always had it but you decided to keep it until now.

There are some important lessons to learn in this chapter which also led to having the best wine in the last part.

1. Jesus and his disciples were invited to the marriage – John 2 verse 2

2. The mother of Jesus spoke on their behalf (you may call it an intercession) – Verse 3

3. Jesus had compassion, even though it was not yet time for him to operate – Verse 4

4. They were given instructions and they obeyed – Verse 5, 7 & 8
When you take a look at these lines above then you will see how you too can get the best from the last.

Just as these couple and their family invited Jesus to their wedding, invite Jesus into everything you are doing. You need to know that despite the power of God to do anything and get into any situation, he probably will not step in if not invited.

These people were also given instructions and they obeyed. I am wondering what was going on in the minds of the people when they needed wine and somoene asked them to get water. Didnt they ask what the connection was?

You may be getting some instructions from God and they may not seem to relate to what you are going through. The God who wants to bring out the best for you knows how to connect the dots. All you have to do is to obey.

I pray that as you obey, your obedience will produce results. People will come and rejoice with you and this will be your best part of the year ever, in the name of Jesus.
