The Fourth man as a deliverer | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1.

The fourth man that showed up for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the book of Daniel chapter 3 is also known as a deliverer. The son of God or God himself will not just show up so that he can be seen. One of the major things that he does when he shows up is to deliver those who are his children.

God’s appearance does not stop with delivering his children whenever he shows up. A number of times, he will deliver his children and also visit with vengeance the people who were disturbing his children or that have held them as captives. We saw this in how he helped the children of Israel to leave Egypt. Again with the three friends of Daniel who were thrown into the fire, the Bible says in Daniel 3:22, ‘Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego.’ Those who were thrown into the fire were not killed but the people who threw them into the fire got killed.

For now, we shall focus on God’s capacity to deliver when he shows up. When you look at these three gentle men who were thrown into the fire by King Nebuchadnezzar, you will realize that no human being could have delivered them. There was no one to speak up for them. No one could appease the king to change his mind about throwing them into the fire. They were in really big trouble and only a miracle would have gotten them out of that trouble.

Unfortunately, Nebuchadnezzar made a mistake as recorded in verse 15 of that Daniel 3. It says, ‘Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, good! But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. AND WHO IS THE GOD WHO WILL DELIVER YOU FROM MY HANDS?’ He challenged God! He didn’t know that God is the complete deliverer. He is the deliverer that everyone runs to. It is God’s habit to deliver and he will deliver you. The bible says, ‘Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. – Psalm 34:19.

I pray for you in the mighty name of Jesus, that everyone or every situation wondering how you will be delivered will see God miraculously deliver you. The fourth man showed up to deliver the three gentlemen and he will show up to deliver you as well in Jesus name. Just when you think there is no hope again, the fourth man in the fiery furnace who doesn’t need plenty of time to deliver you will show up, deliver you and give you a new beginning in Jesus name.
