For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power – 1 Corinthians 4:20.
In the first of this series we looked at the emphasis on the fact that the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. We also mentioned the fact that when you have power and speak the word, the word comes forth with power. When you have not received any power, the words you speak will not have any effect.
When there is power then there are results that follow the words that you speak. Our Lord Jesus who came to establish the kingdom of God demonstrated raw power when he was here on earth. There were many religious leaders in His days but what stood him out and showed that He was not just another religious leader is the fact that His words carried power.
Since we now know that the kingdom is not just in words but in power, the next question should then be, ‘how do we receive this power?’ If we don’t receive this power we can’t do much or amount to much. It is with this power that we can do great exploits. It is with this power that we can fight the battles of life and overcome. It is with this power that we can excel.
In Acts 1:8, the word of God says, ‘But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.’
This verse of scripture shows that the power will come from the Holy Spirit. It says we will receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. The Holy Spirit moves with power. When He comes into your life, He comes with power. He can’t be in you and things remain the same. You can’t speak and there are no results. You can’t decree and the decree is not established.
Too many Christians don’t know this or seem to have forgotten. They relate with God the father and Jesus who is God the son. They hardly relate with the Holy Spirit that helps us to generate the much needed power. From today, you have to generate power by relating with the Holy Ghost and praying fervently in the Holy Ghost. Praying in the Holy Ghost just sweeps everything that you need to touch on in the place of prayer.
From today, as you seek to relate with the Holy Spirit and pray in the language of the Holy Ghost, may you receive the power to operate in this kingdom in Jesus mighty name.
