Why do we need the heaven to open? | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
James 1:17 NKJV.

There are several reasons for which we will expect the heavens to open. If the heavens do not open, there is no way we will be comfortable here on earth. Life will be miserable and things will be hard both physically and spiritually.

Anyone who operates under closed heavens will be terribly frustrated despite being greatly talented. You will just be doing things and nothing will work. The person will not experience favour and all the labours of the person will be in vain.

For those operating under closed heavens, no matter how hard they try, opportunities will always pass them by. They will do everything right and in the right time. You almost will not be able to flaw whatever they do but they still will not record success because the heaven over them is closed.

So among many other reasons, here’s why you need the heavens to open:

God is our Shepard and is in heaven – Psalm 23 starts by saying that the Lord is our Shepard and we shall not want. This Lord who is our Shepard sits in heaven. If we, his children will not want – lack any good thing – then heaven, which is the store house of blessings, must be perpetually open to us. If the heaven is not open, then we will lack but God’s word says we shall not want. For that to happen, heaven has to remain open.

Good gifts come from heaven when the heaven is open – James 1:17 says to us that all good and perfect gifts come from above. If the heaven is closed, how can good and perfect gifts come to us? Jesus in Mathew 6:32 talks about our heaven father knowing that we have needs. When God will meet our needs, it will be with good and perfect gifts which can only come from heaven when the heaven is open.

What comes from God adds no sorrow – Proverbs 10:22 says that the blessings of the Lord maker rich and adds no sorrow. When heaven opens to us, we will not turn to men for help who can make life miserable after helping us. If a man helps you, he can bring it up the rest of your life for everyone to know or so that you can be indebted to him for life. Help from men will come with conditions and can lead to regret but help from God, when the heaven is open, does not add sorrow.

That’s where our help comes from – Psalm 121 says I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence cometh my help? The Psalmist also answers immediately by saying my help comes from the Lord. Remember we said The Lord is in heaven and if our help will come from him then, the heaven must be open. That’s when we can receive help in our businesses, careers, academic pursuits, marital life and other endeavours in life.

Open Heaven Releases God’s Spirit – Mathew 3:16 Shows us that when the heavens opened to Jesus, after being baptized by John the Baptist, the Holy Spirit descended from heaven like a dove. This also happened to the Disciples in the book of Acts 1. Jesus told them in verse 8 that they will receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon them. You know there is no way the Holy Spirit would have come upon them without the heavens opening.

I pray that in this month, the heavens will open for you. Help will come for you. You will not lack any good thing. You will begin to see the favour of God in Jesus mighty name.
