One spectacular thing that occurred all through the ministry of Jesus was the fact that he was never caught off guard regarding what to say especially when the people around deliberately set out to push him into a trap based on His words.
I believe there are people out there today who also want to get you into a trap based on what you say. Someone is waiting to prove to your boss that you do not deserve the last promotion or that you do not deserve the promotion you are about to get. Another person just wants you to be publicly disgraced and when they know you have to make a presentation, they begin to prepare all sorts of questions that may not even be totally relevant to your presentation just because they want you to say what will put you into trouble.
All of this is really happening in the world but we as the sons and daughters of God have an exception to this in the legality of God’s word. According to His word Isaiah 50 verse 4, ‘The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned (KJV). With the tongue of the learned you cannot possibly speak amiss or be trapped by your words because you are not the one saying what you are saying. That verse says he wakes you ears to ear every monrning and that implies that if you always hear from God then you will always know what to say. What another person wants you to say will not matter and what they think you do not know will not count. With the tongue of the learned you will be confident in what you say because you know that its source is greater than those who are waiting for you to say rubbish.
Sometimes I hear some people who are supposed to be called the sons and daughters of God saying, ‘I don’t know what to say!’ If you are a true child of God I can then put it straight to you that it is not possible for you not to know what to say! If you have received the tongue of the learned and your ears are awakened every morning then you can be in the middle of confusion! Another verse of the Bible says ‘The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are experienced. It may not necessarily be that I have been through all the process but God has helped me, by sitting at His feet, to know what some people have spent several years trying to know! To have the tongue of the learned or tongue of the experienced means that you listen to God from time to time based on the words that occupy the remaining lines of Isaiah 50 verse 4.
God will not wake you up and put all things in your head and have all knowledge in your mouth with you taking a deliberate step to know what you are supposed to be doing for God, where it should be done and how it should be done. When you are in the right place by instructions and you have been working according to God’s plans, then you can stand to your feet when anybody expects you to be confused to say, I have the tongue of the learned.’ When you stand to speak the Holy Spirit provides inspiration and you speak not to impress but to impact!
