Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel. – I Kings 18:46 NKJV
There are times when things may appear too slow and you just don’t understand what is happening. You have tried everything that needs to be done and things are just not moving as they should. When you get to a point like this, you can’t continue to watch things and wait. Waiting may take forever.
You may then beging to ask, so what do I do? Is there a way to change things? Certainly there is something you can do, when you have done all that you know and nothing is working. What you need is the grace for speed and you can ask God to grant you that grace.
The grace for speed will hasten things up. The things that have been dragging for too long will just move to the fast lane and things will happen faster than you can imagine. You may also have been told that something is not possible or that it willl take some years. When you receive the grace for speed, it will happen is a short time.
With the grace for speed, while others are still striving, God takes you there quickly. When others are making effort, Grace puts you ahead of them.
In Genesis 27:5-10, we saw Isaac giving instructions to Esau on what to get for him so he could be blessed. While Isaac spoke, Rebekah heard everything. Being the wife of Isaac, it is expected that she would have a lot of the ingredients needed to prepare her husband’s favourite meal. As soon as she heard the instructions given to Esau, she went inside to get all that Esau was going into the bush to look for and gave it to the other child (Jacob) that she loved. That is grace for speed.
Jacob was not even there when the conversation was going on. He wouldn’t have been able to outsmart his brother in hunting even if he was there and he heard the instructions. His brother (Esau) was a professional hunter to Esau would have been smarter if they went into the bush together. However, God made it easier and faster for Jacob. It was so fast that even his father asked, ‘How is it that you were able to get it so soon?’
May God grant you the grace for speed in Jesus name. What others are still looking for will be dropped on your laps and it will then appear as if you are smarter than those other people. Sometimes it will appear as though you know more because the grace for speed is upon you.
Another beautiful example of the grace for speed is the case of Elijah running ahead of Ahab in 1 Kings 18:44-46. Humanly speaking, there’s no way that would have been possible. How can a king run ahead on chariots and a prophet running on foot will outrun him? How do you even explain that? But the Bible says, ‘Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.’ So it is obvious that it was the hand of the Lord that made it possible.
When God’s hand is upon you, the speed you will experience will be inexplicable just like that of Elijah. I pray that the hand of God will come upon you in Jesus name. You will begin to experience speed in everything area of your life that is slowing down in Jesus name. God bless you.
