Singled out for Divine Intervention | © Fola Daniel Adelesi

When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” – John 5:6
In order to get out of some situations, the only solution is for God to single us out for divine intervention. If we are not singled out for divine intervention, we may find ourselves struggling with people who are more competent, smarter or more crooked.
If God himself does not help us, our situation may continue to deteriorate. That is why we will need to cry out to God in order to be singled out for divine intervention.
When you take a look at the verse of scripture that we read above, there was nothing that the man did in order to be the only one that Jesus healed. Even though the bible says Jesus perceived he had been there a long time, I am thinking that this man may not be the only one who had been there for a long time!
In fact, I think that all the people who were there had been there for a long time. We were told that an angel only went down at a certain time to stir the water and only one person got healed. All others had to wait until the next visit of the angel before getting healed.
The Bible describes the situation in that place where that man had been waiting. It says, ‘In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.’ – John 5:3. If the Bible says there was a great multitude please pay attention to that. It means there were s many people who needed to be healed.
Now the issue is since Jesus was passing by, who will Jesus heal and what will be the prerequisite for healing that person? What qualification or ability will the person put forward in order to be healed?
In this case it was all up to Jesus to decide who to single out for healing. Jesus did not go for the fastest. In fact, the man had remained longer in that place because he was not fast enough to get into the water when the angle came.
When the angel came, it was about the fastest but when Jesus came, he gave grace to the slowest. You may have been in a situation for a very long time because of some inabilities. I pray that God will single you out for divine intervention. When God singles you out for divine intervention, the disability or the constraints that kept you in the same position for too long will no longer matter. The only thing that will count is that Jesus has come for you.
I pray for you today, God will single you out for divine intervention. Where you think you need your ability God will bypass your ability to help you in Jesus name. Where you think you need certain qualification, God will go ahead of your qualification and make things happen for you.
This very day as God singles you out for divine intervention, what you don’t have will no longer matter. Only the intervention of God will matter in Jesus precious name.
