Where are we going from here? | Fola Daniel Adelesi, ASM, ACL, Wcc
The stages you have surpassed will pass into your account as victory but the ones ahead of you will remain as challenges. As much as I reckon with the fact that we need to celebrate the phases of victory, I always do not celebrate in a way that I lose sight of the road ahead. Sometimes this principle is so vivid in the game of football. A team scores a goal and starts celebrating immediately but while they are still celebrating, the other team comes up with a counter attack and before they know what is happening, there is another goal recorded against them.
If you remember this illustration all the time, you will then bear in mind that when you score a point in life, you have to celebrate but while you are celebrating you must keep your eyes open on the things ahead so that your source of celebration does not immediately become your source of mourning.
I like to look back and see how far I have come but I quickly look forward to see how far I have to go and I admonish you to do the same. For a driver to arrive safely he has to use the mirror above the dashboard so that he can see whats going on behind him but if all he looks at is what is going on at the back, he will definitely crash into an object ahead. Never look so much at the back that you now have to crash into the future.
Here are my parting nuggets:
1-Always have goals
2-Be flexible with your goals
3-Project and restrategise
4-Learn new things in form of skills
5-When there is no job, create one for yourself.
6-Always stay motivated in life
7-Never think you will make it through life without God.
We all need to remember that this is a phase and nothing stops here so we must remain humble enough to go through the new phases ahead and keep rising though the relationships we have built and are building. I wish you the best and pray that the forces of life will favour your strong desires
